Description



The Iron Giant is my absolute favorite animated film, maybe my favorite film in general. This film and this scene hold a very special place in my heart. The scene where Hogarth explains life and death to the giant has always comforted me, even as a child, whenever I thought about dying. Even though I think this could have turned out better, I enjoyed every minute of making it. I'd love to make even better pieces for this movie.

I used a screenshot from the movie as a basic reference. I actually painted this, but later added digital layers to help with the lighting and the stars.
